Writing
I write features, articles and blogs about wildlife. I write regular contributions for BBC Wildlife and have also written for British Birds, BBC Countryfile, Birdwatching, Shipshape and Birdwatch. Blogs have included those for Meet The Species and BirdLife Malta as well as web content for the national Bioblitz website. I have also written press releases for the charity MARINElife.
Personal Garden Bird Consultation
Spend a morning or afternoon with me, and find out how to attract more birds and other wildlife to your garden.
TV and radio reporting
I am a contributor, consultant and reporter/presenter for radio and TV including:
BBC Springwatch, BBC Autumnwatch, The One Show, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Inside Out, and Radio 4's Shared Planet. A showreel, pieces to camera and sound recordings can be found on my Video Gallery page.
Wildlife Detective and Nature Consultant
If you find a feather, skull, or track of an animal, then I can identify it. My various artefacts, such as skulls and wings, are used by TV companies such as the BBC's Autumnwatch Unsprung, Tigress Productions, and Parthenon Entertainment (now Sky Vision), to help illustrate a particular story. I also help advise on different wildlife ideas and concepts.
Public Engagement
During the past 12 years I have worked as a local learning and outreach officer for Bristol Zoo, the RSPB, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and the University of Bristol (Bristol Dinosaur Project), working with schools, families, and other audiences.
Training
I provide training on a variety of subjects including: public engagement, developing and delivering school workshops, understanding learning (school-age and upwards), conducting bird surveys, and identifying wildlife.
Most recently, I have been delivering training to university postgraduates and staff including subjects such as engaging with schools, developing school workshops, presentation skills, and using plain language.
I am working as an associate with Lighting Up Learning on the Natural Connections initiative, a three-year project to support schools with 'Learning in the Natural Environment' (LINE). In the Bristol area we have developed the project into the South West Collaboration.
Tour Leading
A guide for Naturetrek, I travel the world showing others wildlife in the Azores, Gambia, St Lucia, Mexico, Lapland, Monterey Bay, Spitzbergen, Romania, Eastern Canada, and Dorset.
Bird Survey Work
I am a licenced bird ringer (A Permit) for the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), and teach others how to survey and identify birds.

I offer a broad range of wildlife services, from taking people out on dawn chorus walks, to reporting on nature stories on tv and radio.
